Sports SKI Washington DC, Maryland州から車でアクセスできる代表的スキーリゾートは下記です。 West Virginia; Snowshoe DCからは車で約5〜6時間ほどかかります。1, 2月は地道は雪がやや積もることはありますが、しっかり整理されているので、4WDであればノーマルタイヤでも問題はありません。スキー場の構成として、頂上に宿泊施設やレストランがあり、頂上を中心に上〜下に向かってコースが設定されています。頂上のレストランは、どこか欧風でもあり、眼下に観る湖は絵になる風景です。コースも多岐に渡り、様々な楽しみ方ができます。DC在住で、大自然を楽しみたい方にお薦めです。 参考：NIH留学日記 2007.1.28. 旅のコーナー Snowshoe Pennsylvania; Seven Springs Highway 270〜70/76でSomerset(ここまで約3hr)で降り、地道31を約30分走らせると到着します。路上の雪は整理されており、4WDであれば、ノーマルタイヤでも全く問題はない思われます。スキー場の規模、レストラン／ホテルなどの周辺環境も充実、2月に行ったときはpowdery snowで充分満足でした。少し足を延ばしてもいいと御考えなら、御薦めです。 参考：NIH留学日記 2007.2.19. & 2008.1.21. 旅のコーナー Seven Springs Pennsylvania; White Tail DCから車で1.5〜2hrで行けますが、滑走シーズンは少なく、人工雪が使用されることもあります。気楽に行けるという点では、御薦めです。 参考：NIH留学日記 2008.1.1. 　　　旅のコーナー White Tail スキー／スノボ関連ショップ： Ski Chalet Arlington : 701-521-1700 Chantilly : 703-631-7880 Shady Grove : 301-948-5200 Materialを揃えるには充分で、wearもそれなりに品が揃ってます。キャリアも購入できます。 スキー一般の参考サイト： FIS World Cup J-Sports 全日本スキー連盟（SAJ） 日本職業スキー教師協会（SIA） The Ski Club of Washington DC 私自身のスキーの歩みと諸言を記載してみました。 　幼少時：三浦雄一郎&スノードルフィンスキースクールハチ北に所属 　大学以降：京都府スキー連盟ファーレンスキークラブに所属 　全日本スキー連盟公認：１級 　国際スキー技術検定：ゴールド 　主な競技大会：冬季国体予選　競技（大回転など） 　　　　　　：スキー技術選手権大会　予選 諸言： カービングとスキッディングに幅広く対応するポジションとスムースで流れと調和のある滑りを探し求めてます。落下運動を効率よく使った誰もが取り組める身体に優しい滑りを目指していきたいです。 尊敬するスキーヤー 　Pirmin Zurbriggen, 渡辺一樹 Tennis 　 現在、NIHに勤務されている日本人研究者およびその家族が中心で行われているテニス会に参加しています。大学や高校時代にテニスをされていた方や、初心者の方、久々にテニスをされる方などレベルはまちまちですが、どことなくまとまっています。内容は、ストロークを適時こなし、ダブルスゲームを取り入れるといったところです。初夏と初冬の２／年、出身地を東西に分け、東西戦が催されます。ダブルス３ゲーム先取の試合を１人３試合こなし、勝敗数を競います。結構、盛り上がります。 　　日時：毎週日曜日午前10時〜　約２時間程度 　　場所：Civic Center Park 　　　　　Map 万が一、Civic Center Parkが使用できない時は、Dogwood Parkで行なわれることもあります。 　　場所（代用）：Dogwood Park 　　　　　　　　　Map 毎年9月上旬に、US Open TennisがNew York, Flushing Meadowsで行われます。世界４大テニスの１つで、その規模は世界一で、実に見所の多い大会です。DCからNYまでは、Amtrak、飛行機、車と何でもOKですが、 Amtrakがやはり便利ですね。チケットもFinalでなければ、まずGetできるので、テニスに関心のある方は是非足を運んで下さい。 参考：NIH Diary 旅のコーナー New York 2 　　　US Open Tennis Legg Mason Tennis Classic 8月の中旬、ワシントン：ロッククリークパークに世界の名テニスプレーヤーを集めて行われるトーナメント大会。これまでに、アンドレ アガシ、アンヴィ ロディックらが優勝に輝いている。 参考：NIH留学日記 2007.8.5. 　　 Baseball MLB（Major League Baseball） 参考：MLB日本語公式ライセンシーサイト Major.
